WSJ.com – Palm Phone Aims for Comeback

Palm introduced a long-awaited new operating system and touch-screen wireless phone on Thursday following a nearly two-year long restructuring effort designed to revamp the company’s product portfolio.

Years ago this would have been considered a significant event. I’m not sure anymore. Palm as a platform has ceased to be relevant. people went to the blackberry first, then to the iphone. I feel that Palm sqaundered the handheld market by focusing all energy on the phone market. really, the ipod touch is a palm…without cut and paste and actually had a more elegant design in some respects.
